GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE IN RUSHAGA SECTOR OF BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Gorilla habituation experience is the process of training mountain gorillas to get used to the present of human being. The experience is done from Bwindi Impenetrable NationalPark at Rushaga sector in the southern part of Uganda. Rushaga has got two gorilla families/group, which are habituated by Uganda wildlife authority to enable those who like to spend more time with the gorillas. You will spend four hours with the endangered mountain gorillas with the help of researchers and game rangers.

Gorilla habituation experience permit cost USD 1,500 per permit just like gorilla trekking in Rwanda, yet you will spend four [4] hours with the gorillas. If you’re planning to come for gorilla habituation experience please we advise you to book gorilla permits in time like three months in advance to avoid disappointments due to limited number of gorilla habituation permits and only four [4]  permits per day for habituated gorilla family in Rushaga sector.

Uganda is the only country with gorillas habituation experience in the world and it has half of the population of the endangered mountain gorillas in the world. Gorilla habituation experience cost 1,500 usds per permit and you will spend four hours with the gorillas then gorilla trekking cost 600 usds per permit and you will spend only one hour with the gorillas.

Rushaga can be accessthrough Rwanda, you can flight into Kigali international airport and check-in at the hotel then the following day the guide will pick you for transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla habituation experience in Rushaga sector and the journey takes 3-4 hours’ drive.   You can access Rushaga also by landing in Entebbe international airport and check-in at the hotel then in the morning the guide will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable national park and the journey takes 8-9 hours’ drive to Rushaga where you will do gorilla habituation experience. Another option is by flying from Entebbe international airport to Kisoro town and it takes only one hour from Entebbe international airport to Kisoro and then one hour drive from Kisoro to Rushaga.
