The Rare Tree Climbing
Lions of Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth national park Uganda
The tree climbing lions are found in southern part of
Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth national park. Seeing lions climbing trees is
very rare and unique which makes Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most
visited park because of its rare wildlife’s in Uganda safaris.
In East Africa we
have two national parks with tree climbing lions in Uganda and Tanzania,
Ishasha sector being the best destination for tree climbing lions and they
climb trees when the sunrises and Second Park with tree climbing lions is Lake
Manyara national park in southern Tanzania.
Actually you have high chances of seeing tree climbing lions
from Ishasha plains of Queen Elizabeth national park and don’t expect to see
only young lions but expect to see also adult lions from the top of the trees.
The researchers have not yet got a clear reason behind these
tree climbing lions however speculation have it that lions are trying to escape
from the hot conditions on the ground so as to search for breathtaking and cool
breeze from the top of the trees. But some researchers put it that lions are
escaping from the bites of tsetse flies that are characterize on the ground
hence escaping to top of the trees so as to avoid bites of the tsetse flies. These
lions spend they leisure time from the top of the trees and it is most amazing
sight that is not easy to find in all of the African countries but from Lake
Manyara national park and in queen Elizabeth national park in Ishasha sector.
When you’re having tour to Queen Elizabeth national park or
Bwindi impenetrable forest national park I would encourage you to take game
drive along the Ishasha plains where you will spot the lions on the giant’s fig
trees watching the Uganda kobs down and they have confidence of food security.
Ishasha sector is popularly growing because of it is tree
climbing lions and it is among the most visited places for the tourists on the
safari to either Queen Elizabeth national park or Bwindi impenetrable forest
nationa
Ishasha sector climbing lions are predicted to be over 50
plus lions and not only will you see lions but other wildlife will be spotted
like vast elephants, buffalos herds, Uganda kobs and countless of antelopes.
Never climb a tree when the lion is chasing you especially
from Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where lions are well known
for climbing trees you will end up escaping to the hands of the lions again
from the trees.
This unforgettable Uganda safari encounter is always done as
an en-route from or to Bwindi impenetrable national park for Gorilla trekking.
