Murchison falls National Park is the biggest park in Uganda. The park was established in 1952 and located in Northern part of the Albertine Rift valley in Uganda and it’s the oldest game reserve.  The park was known as game reserve in 1926 which was set to protect the Savannah grassland.
The park is commonly known of its remarkable Murchison falls, the falls squeezes themselves through a tiny space of 7 meters between the rocks. Murchison falls is the world’s strongest waterfalls in the whole of African Continent.
Murchison falls National Park was sometimes referred as Kabarega National park after the king [Omukama] of the Bunyoro kingdom that was around the 19th century. The Omukama of Bunyoro kingdom resisted the colonization by the British and he was taken to exile of Seychelles island nation by the British.
Murchison falls National Park is home to 77 mammals and 500 bird species. The park has all the big five game animals, elephants, lions, leopards which are commonly seen from the northern part of the park, Cape buffalo and Rhinoceros. 

Boat Cruise from River Nile
The boat cruise starts off from Paraa with beautiful view of wildlife and culminates with memorable view of Murchison falls.
Murchison falls National Park has two sections of boatcruise on river Nile where the boat starts from upstream to the bottom of the Murchison falls and Murchison falls is among one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. The second boat trip starts from downstream to Victoria Nile delta stretching to the shores of Lake Albert.

You see how water sequences themselves out of the tiny rocks while forming permanent rainbows.

Murchison falls National Park is main birding attraction with birds like shoe-bill and it is best sighted in dry seasons of January –march. Birds are commonly found near river Nile.

Murchison falls National Park offers best game drive and you will spot big five game, lion, elephants, leopards, rhinos, cape buffaloes and others animals include zebra water-buck, warthog, hyena, hippo and kobs.
